Les Miserables 2012

That's right, Les Miserables made it's debut in the U.S. recently and I couldn't be more thrilled as it would be coming to Philippine cinemas on January 16th. Les Mis is my number one favorite musical and novel of all time and I might have watched a couple of adaptations of it on film and television, and in various languages too. So you can say I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to it. It's also a Broadway classic for decades now, making this year's movie adaptation an even bigger hit.

This year's version of Les Mis stars Hugh Jackman as the ever famous ex-convict, Jean Val-Jean, the protagonist of the story. Russell Crowe played the part of the antagonist, Inspector Javert, while Anne Hathaway stars as Fauntine and Amanda Seyfried as Cosette and with the four main characters being huge celebs, this production has definitely been abundantly budgeted.

Les Miserables tells us the tales of Jean Val-Jean as he comes to the end of his term after an 18 year sentence in the Toulon prison, set in early 1900's France. The story follows Val-Jean as he tried to cope up with life and in his journey of becoming a renewed man. Les Miserables is an enthralling story of broken dreams, unrequited love and redemption and will surely, once again, touch the hearts of millions of people.

I will definitely see this on the cinema next month. This is just an opportunity I cannot dare to miss.

In other news, and a completely off topic one, I have just been invited by the Iowa City Owl website to write for them. This is definitely the biggest news I've received this year. It's like a hidden Christmas present that came out of nowhere. I'm just really thankful about it. See you there, soon! :D Cheers!

Book Review: Anne Rice: Interview with the Vampire

“It was as if when I looked into his eyes I was standing alone on the edge of the world...on a windswept ocean beach. There was nothing but the soft roar of the waves.”
― Anne Rice, Interview with the Vampire

Plot: Here are the confessions of a vampire. Hypnotic, shocking, and chillingly erotic, this is a novel of mesmerizing beauty and astonishing force—a story of danger and flight, of love and loss, of suspense and resolution, and of the extraordinary power of the senses. It is a novel only Anne Rice could write.

This is obviously a classic, what else can I say about it? It has award winning written all over it, and that's not only literally. It's a must read for vampire literature fanatics, no other novel could be compared to this compelling tale of Louis, Claudia and Lestat. It's a definite must read if you still have not read it; it will take you to places you never thought of going to, and experience lavishly an adventure of a lifetime. Call me overrated, but that was what I have been through as I read this book. I'm giving this book five cookies, not only for being a classic, but for taking for a great adventure in the 19th century. :)

Some Thoughts

DID YOU KNOW that most of the successful businessmen in the world do not technically have a high IQ? Instead, they possess a high level of EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT in which they use to, not only keep their business together, but also their employees happy, encouraged and successfull as they are.

Think about it, a good and honest tap on someone's shoulder could make them a better person, and what better way to enjoy their triumph is to be happy for them and not jealous of what they have achieved.

With that, let me share to you what I learned this morning.

I have learned that people compliment you for two things, and it's just either they're secured enough to encourage you, or they're simply jealous of what you have and who you are. Another thing is, being frank would not make you a better person, unless you do it the right way, and the right way is to be objective enough to not hurt a person's feelings.

You can never say that you're objective if your heart and mind are filled with nothing but jealousy towards the person. You will just be simply judging, if not ironically complimenting his or her flaws.

So now, I think a hundred times whenever a person encourages or compliments me. And I think you should do the same.

Ask yourself:

Do they do it simply because they're truthfully happy for me, and wanted me to improve what I already have and/or who I already am?

Or is it the other way around? which is to just gain something from me in return, and/or take advantage of what I can do, only to pass it on as something they did themselves to make them feel secured.

Just some thought to ponder on. :) Happy Sunday to everyone!

The Godfather

Definitely one of the greatest and well known franchise. I honestly don't know where to start in this review of The Godfather. I just feel that the novel is too awesome and legendary to be critiqued.

The movie was excellent, if that word tops 'great'. But the book is even better! The book gave so much importance to each of the important characters in every chapter, thus making the situation or event even more easier to understand. Add to that the various point of views of the characters whenever the Don sends for them to do him service. Most of the time, the characters were frightened of doing a service that would put their lives at stake, but later on remembering the great service that the Don had done for them, thus ending up doing whatever it takes to repay him.

Every turn of the page is filled with information you definitely don't want to miss at all, or you end up confused. It's not a boring book, seriously, and just like the movie, you would have to keep your eyes open for surprises. Apart from that, the novel would make you go ga-ga over itself, and keep your emotions at bay on certain circumstances, like for instance, Sonny's death, although it came quite fast and ignored by the Corleone's, still lingers even at the end of the novel. The death of the Don, is another thing that would make you really remorseful and, at the same time, scornful about.

Mario Puzo is truly an entertaining author who have written, probably the greatest, masterpiece of the 20th and 21st Century. Forgive me for saying, but this is truly better than Pulp Fiction, and thus it deserves all the honors it has garnered. I would shoot myself to death if I don't give this book Five Cookies.

Flipped

“My heart stopped. It just stopped beating. And for the first time in my life, I had that feeling. ” -Juli

I got to read this book about three years ago after my good friend Chase lent me a copy. The copy was not his, but perhaps he knew that I'm quite of a bookworm and probably he figured that it was a must read, that was why he insisted that I borrow it. I accepted the book anyway and started reading it. Here's the plot overview from Goodreads.com

Flipped is a romance told in two voices. The first time Juli Baker saw Bryce Loski, she flipped. The first time Bryce saw Juli, he ran. That’s pretty much the pattern for these two neighbors until the eighth grade, when, just as Juli is realizing Bryce isn’t as wonderful as she thought, Bryce is starting to see that Juli is pretty amazing. How these two teens manage to see beyond the surface of things and come together makes for a comic and poignant romance.

I honestly have forgotten about having read this book at all, had I not seen it in GoodReads.com yesterday. But when I saw it again, I remembered the two-perspective love story as I added it to my "read" list. Flipped, the he-said she-said novel written by Wendelin Van Draanen, tells the progressing love story of Juli and Bryce. The word cute is the best way, in my opinion, to describe the novel, and yes, I meant that in a positive way. I mean, with the way the story were told by second graders surely, you cannot think of any other way to describe it. Okay, so there may be other words to describe it, like creative or perhaps absorbing.

Flipped, is a well-crafted light read, it's also very engaging if you ask me. The story literally "flips" from one point of view to another, each chapter tells the point of view of the main characters on certain events and I find it really great as I am up for a lot of character background. I love getting to know the characters I read about. This book is also pretty hilarious, with Juli chasing Bryce, and Bryce running away from her; the story of how they met and how they eventually become friends. The story takes a turn from being hilarious to serious as the characters mature; the struggles of fitting in, coping up with family matters and figuring out emotions are most of the things found in the latter part. Towards the end, the story will give its reader a surprising little flip to funny and significant moment in the lives of the characters.

I personally find this book not only engaging and interesting, but it also makes you feel every emotion of both characters from their point of views, respectively. Also, this way of telling the story gives it clarity, it gives the readers a chance to better understand the story. This book is well suited for (although not restrained alone to) pre-teens. People my age would definitely get nostalgic about their first crush or first love, and most likely, their first kiss. Every turn of the page is another pace in the lives of Bryce and Juli to look forward to. With that, I give this book four cookies.

A Thousand Tomorrows

Decided to finally post book reviews. :) Hope you enjoy reading them! :D

A Thousand Tomorrows by Karen Kingsbury is definitely my favorite novel of all time. I know there are far better novels written, but this certain book have captured my heart ever since the first time I have laid my eyes on it in the bookstore. When I saw it during my freshmen years in high school, I immediately saved up for it and bought it the following week. The best thing was it did not let me down.

I swear, every part of the book is still with me up to this day, even if I have lost the book itself from my numerous apartment transfers in the past few years. The story tells the wonderful love story of a Bull Rider by the name of Cody Gunner and Ali Daniels, a Barrel Racer. The story revolves around the complicated childhood background of Cody, and Ali's battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Having been angry at the world, Cody Gunner have met Ali Daniels, who, in the most critical stage of her illness, still managed to keep a smile on her face and motivate herself to go on and pursue her career as a Barrel Racer. As expected, they fell in love, but Ali eventually dies in the end.

I am probably a fan of tragedies as I have often fell in love with stories with such themes. (Consider Shakespeare and Nicholas Sparks, for example.) And this novel is a good addition to a Romance and Tragedy reading lists, if you ask me. A sequel has been already published and it's entitled "Just Beyond the Clouds" I will definitely make a review of that once I finish reading it, but with my pile of work, I cannot promise to do it soon.

It is really hard to tell a story this good without going in to so much details but I do not want to spoil every detail of the novel. To keep things short though, all I have left to say is that this book is great! It is a must read for every book lover out there.

Rating:
I will not be using stars, instead I will use cookies to rate the books I've read. The mechanic is the same as the stars though, I just find using cookies more unique and this novel deserves five cookies.

Weight Loss Options

Most people I know are desperate to lose weight, especially now that summer has come. Those people I know have considered dieting, exercising and even surgeries! Yep, believe it or not, my good friend has seriously talked to me about a series of surgeries wherein the doctors take out a part of your stomach to make you eat less.

Such surgery is risky, I know and so I made a little research on it to share with my good friend. Upon browsing the net, I have come across a site called My Surgery MD wherein I found a couple of information about the procedure that my friend and I were talking about and found out that it is called “Bariatric Surgery”.

One of the surgeries I found under Bariatric is Gastric Bypass Procedure. This procedure is said to be for extremely obese patients who have found little to no success at all in a weight loss diet. This particular procedure decreases the stomach size of the patients, which then in turn becomes a gateway to successful weight loss.
This procedure also costs around $18,000 to about $30,000 and would depend upon the surgeon who would be performing the procedure and the technique that he or she is going to use.

Another was Gastric Sleeve Surgery, some tend to call it Sleeve Gastrectomy and this particular procedure that costs around $10,000 to $25,000 involves the removal of the large portion of the patient’s stomach.

The last procedure I found is called Lap Band Surgery. This procedure involves a silicone band that would be wrapped around the patient’s stomach to limit the amount of food that they would be eating. This procedure costs around $15, 000 to $20,000.

Just imagine that. My friend’s eyes literally bulged at the tremendous amount.

And although these procedures do have their benefits, still nothing is better than the natural way of trimming down other than proper diet and exercise.

Drunk Driving Lesson

I know a lot of people who drink and drive after spending the entire evening at a friend’s house and it scares me that most of them might be involved in car accidents in the future, or worse—being caught in act by the authority.

Considering the fact that a person driving under the influence of alcohol is against the law, they might not be involved in a car accident (yet!) but they can be legally charged for DUI (driving under the influence) or DWI (driving while intoxicated) when they get caught by the police. While first offense only charges the offender a misdemeanor DUI, a repeated allegation would result to felony DUI.

Being caught DUI or DWI is like being in an accident as well, in the financial sense that is. Just diminish the finances involved in getting the area cleaned up and the medical fees, but in the same way the offender will still be charged for the crime he or she has committed. The offender would need to hire a special DUI lawyer for his DWI defense and that lawyer would need to let the offender understand the sentence of a repeated DUI offense.

See, all these commotion only for drunk driving. So friends, please do drive safely and sober!

Educ Tour 2012

I honestly did not anticipate on attending this school year's college tour. For one reason, I thought it would be boring and childish, considering the fact that our itineraries were The Myth of the Human Body and Manila Ocean Park, add to that having my batch to share the bus with the annoying freshmen. I thought it would be the worst tour I and my friends would ever have, but I guess fate has once again changed all those sentiments. As usual.

FIRST STOP : Myth of the Human Body - The Fort

Our first stop was The Myth of the Human Body. At first, I thought that the museum would have something to do with the Greek gods and goddesses, but it turned out that only the halls (and certain body parts) were named after some Greek mythological characters. Cameras were not allowed inside, so I was not able to camwhore with my friends during our hour-long tour of the museum.

I found this exhibit really creepy, knowing for a fact that the museum used real human bodies, preserved in a way that the bodies would not have a terrible stench and that the bodies would not dilapidate, they also arranged the bodies into sporty positions as to feature how our muscles are stretched as we do different activities, especially when we play certain sports. The bodies are all of Chinese decent, as mentioned by the tour guide and among the entire exhibit, only two were European. One of the highlights of the museum is featuring various kinds of internal organs, from its healthy state to its worse, due to poor diet and vices such as smoking and alcoholism.

Another was a disturbing exhibit of the different stages of a baby's transformation, and even possible causes of death. Most of them, if not premature, stillborn, or overdue were aborted as abortion is legal in China. I could barely look at the poor babies encased in thick glass, some are even cut in half as to show what was inside them and some even showed tumors which caused their deaths. Well, that was the last part of the exhibit, thank God, but the best highlight I must say is the thin red veins that forms the human body. I have no idea how the people behind the exhibit managed to pull those things off a dead body, nor how they managed to put those fragile things in a thick glass, but all I know is that, it was really amazing.

It is a really wonderful (but creepy) experience, if you ask me. It really was made for learning, no matter how some parts made my tummy churn in a funny way.

LUNCH : Mall of Asia - Pasay
After touring the creepy museum, we headed to the Mall of Asia for lunch. On our way there, I sent a text message to my high school best friend, Gel, telling her that I would be going to MOA, and asked if we could meet and have lunch. She agreed without hesitating of course, she studies in Manila Doctors anyway and going to Mall of Asia is just a jeepney ride away. It's been over five months since we have last seen each other, and perhaps almost a year prior that. I missed her so much.

We had lunch with Abby and Felice at KFC and we tried to catch up with each other's life, but an hour is definitely not enough, but we had to bid each other good bye after lunch. Having half an hour more of free time, Abby, Felice and I roamed around the mall and had coffee at our favorite coffee shop before finally going to the meeting place to get settled for our next destination...

Manila Ocean Park - Roxas Boulevard
Our last stop is Manila Ocean Park, and I would have to admit that I had so much fun in that place more than I ever expected I would. Upon arrival, we watched an amazing bird show that I enjoyed so much. Seeing such talented and witty animals, no one would dare to say that the place was boring despite of the fact that we had to share the entire place with younger children. Yes, that really was embarrassing at first but we managed to get the hang of it.

After the bird show, we watched sea lions do cool random tricks. They really are funny, and I find them really cute as well. I felt like hugging them tight ha-ha, I think they're cuddly despite of how they smell. They are smart animals too, they're practically more human to me than monkeys. Harmless and cute creatures... le sigh. I just could not help but fall in love with sea lions. We watched a sea lion show right after that, which made me want to take photos with them but it's just darn too expensive. T.T

We had a very tickling fish spa right after the sea lion show, and I guess it's my favorite part of the entire tour. I have long been whining about having a foot spa, but I just don't have the time...okay fine, I was just too lazy to go to the nearest salon to have one. :nyaah: So anyway, the experience was really fun--literally. Everyone was screaming and laughing when those cute little (janitor-fish like) fishes swarmed around our feet and started "giving us a foot spa". I was laughing practically all the time.

Our tour eventually ended with a Musical Fountain Show, and I must say it' a perfect way to end a very tiring (yet fun) day. I would really love to go back to Ocean Park but next time with my fiance...

I once dream of...

being a theatre actress.

That dream started when I was in the sixth grade when I was asked by my music teacher to star as Mary Magdalene in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. It was really a nice experience, and exposure if you ask me. Even if my teacher literally dragged me to the first rehearsal. LOL. I carried that dream until I was in High School but eventually dropped it when I found out that writing and web design is my forte in life.

But I still go to opera productions when I have the time these days, or when our school invite theatre groups to perform in our school. When I watch a production, though, I make sure that I inform my elder sister what I'm going to see, especially if it is going to be a musical. She lives in the states, and is a sucker for musical plays, I don't know why.

She also happens to love off-broadway shows, which I think are pretty cool. She would often send me photos of the tickets she bought for a show that she would watch, yeah... that really get me envious as I don't have as much free time as her. Pfft. :blackcloud: haha She often get her tickets online from Ticketamerica.com , she said they have many tickets for all different genres of music including musicals and or plays, plus off Broadway productions and all opera and classic music.

Sometimes, when I watch a production I still day dream that I am one of the people performing. I guess, my love for theatre never left me after all, perhaps I'll give it a shot again when I get the chance. Who knows right? :)

Quand J'étais Chanteur

Sorry for the French title, but if you're quite into films, especially French films you'd know that the title is from a French movie. The English title, if I am not mistaken, is said to be The Singer, or When I was a Singer. Meh. Sorry for the confusing information, so not an expert. :P The movie is written and directed by M. Xavier Giannoli and it stars Gerard Depardieu and Cecile de France, and yes, I watched the movie because I was fan girling over M. Depardieu. You can't blame me though, he's such a good actor, and his performance in the movie bagged positive feed backs from French movie critiques. It was even nominated in the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, and the main actors were nominated as best actor and best actress consecutively in the Cesar Awards that same year; the movie won Best Sound in the said competition.

The movie tells the story of a middle-aged, ballroom singer (Depardieu, as Alain Moreau) who fell in love with a younger woman (de France, as Marion), who happens to be working as an intern in one of his friend's Real Estate company. The two met in one of Moreau's gigs, and they had a one night stand, which Moreau cannot seem to get over with not only because she left him without even saying a word, but also because he was really attracted to her. Being friends with Marion’s boss, Bruno, he went to her office one day and asked Marion to help him find a house for him. The two eventually fell in love, but were hesitant to fully show and give what they feel and have for each other because of a lot of reasons and because of the different situations they were in.

It’s a really great film, if you’d ask me, and I’ve been looking forward to watching it for weeks since I have seen its trailer on YouTube. As a growing fan of Gerard Depardieu, I got curious so I tried to get my hands on a copy of it, and when I finally did, I eventually went gaga over it. The chemistry between Depardieu and de France was quite unexpected, but came out to be wonderful after all. Gerard Depardieu has that something in him that makes him suddenly match a random actress that plays alongside him in movies, and it’s really one of the factors that make a movie better.

Apart from the chemistry that both lead actors possess, another factor that swayed me to watch the movie was the music. I suppose that this is not the first time that Gerard Depardieu was seen and heard singing in a movie, but it’s definitely the first movie where he sang seriously. He has a soothing voice, typical deep male voice, but he definitely carried out his role as a singer throughout the entire film by performing well known French songs and giving new life into them. The song selection was really good, and my personal favourite song in the movie is “Save the Last Dance for Me”, a song which I admit I don’t feel like listening to in the past, but I learned to love and appreciate because of this movie. As a matter of fact the song has been stuck in my head for over a week now, and I’m really having a hard time trying to get it out of system. I also happen to really like the finale, which is Quand J'etais Chanteur, wherein Gerard Depardieu has surprised me with a powerful vocal ability at the latter part of the song. Gerard Depardieu proved himself to be really talented in this movie when he swept along the dance floor with Cecile de France. Cecil de France has also showed her flexibility as an actress and not only did she feature it, she also did it well.

The story progression was good as well, it was neither rushed nor slowed down, it went on smoothly and orderly, in my opinion. But it lacked character background, especially on the part of Cecile de France’s character. I personally find her character background mysterious, even if her personality shows that she was ironically a strong yet fragile woman. I yearn to find out more about her character, since the movie focused on Depardieu’s character background quite well. I feel that some part of the movie was cut during final editing because of this.

The movie ended well, and the director really made it a point that the audience hold their breath at the story’s ending. It was even heartbreaking at first, especially when the lead actors parted ways, but like a fairy tale, it ended happily ever after just when I thought that the credits would roll.

It’s really a great movie, and I highly suggest it to movie fanatics like me who are looking for something easy, simple yet magnetizing. It’s a movie with a very simple plot, typical as some might find, but it was beautifully and superbly told and performed.

Nota bene: All photos are all screen capped by moi. :)

You'll Never Know...

I still feel like crying after seeing the photo below early this afternoon.

Credit: Mr. Dennis L. Santos

You've probably saw it on the evening news tonight, the horrible accident that shook the entire town of Taytay, Rizal early this afternoon. A dump truck went out of control and eventually crashed into a police outpost, killing five people. I was with Mac and Abby in McDonald's Valley Golf this afternoon having our lunch when it happened, and I'm not sure who told us of the news first, but Mac's aunt sent him a message in Facebook asking for his whereabouts, apparently she heard of the news already (I don't even know how, because she's in Canada) and was worried for his nephew. Our good friend Felice sent Abby a text message confirming the accident, telling us that she has been stuck in traffic for almost an hour because of it.

I was in a bit of a shock when we were informed of the news, because Felice and I were planning to go home early but I decided to stay in school because of school work and because I still have a class at 5:30pm. I was thinking of saving my money when people were desperate to save lives. What's worse is while I was browsing through the updates of my friends in Facebook I saw the photo of the accident, and when Mac started browsing through all the photos, he found the picture above. I nearly cried, I'm sure if we were not in a public place I would have done it. The photo just made me worried of the owner of that school book, I was imagining an innocent little girl on her way to school. My heart sank at the thought of it, and what I saw on the news on my way home (I took the bus) made me feel even worse. The owner of the book was an 11 year old boy who was on his way to school; he was running late because he was asked to sell rags by his mother for his and his two other sibling's allowance for the day.

The older sibling was interviewed, and she does not seem to display any sign of grief from the death of her younger brother. I felt really bad... and--I know it's really weird but I was imagining myself as the older sibling... Perhaps I would have gone ballistic if that ever (but I do wish and pray to God that it won't) happen to any of my younger brothers. Maybe the media won't be able to talk to me either, but looking at the sister of the poor boy she was not even slightly tensed. :'(

I was literally trembling on my seat. I closed my eyes and uttered a short prayer for those who were killed, especially for that poor little boy. His death was, I guess, the most tragic among those who were killed... if you would look into this site, they have a photo of the boy--I don't want to and I definitely can't describe the photo, so just see it for yourselves.

My mom doesn't have any idea about it because she was in Quezon City the entire day, but I told her immediately when she called me this evening. She told me what she would always say when things like this happen... "Never forget to utter a prayer wherever you are, because you will never know when you will be joining God." . I hope everyone who would read this would also take at least a few seconds to utter a simple prayer for the people who went home to God today. God bless everyone and keep safe. You'll Never Know...

Segunda Mano 2012

I went to the mall with Mac this morning. It's been nearly two years but we still haven't watched a movie together in the cinemas so we decided to finally do it today, since we're kind of getting tired of watching movies on computer screens. Ha-ha! We were planning to watch The Asiong Salonga Story, but the screening schedule is not until 6:30pm, so we opted for another movie instead. We chose to watch Segunda Mano since the trailer seems to be pretty nice, we figured that the movie is great. But that thought was cut short as the movie reached it's first half-hour. Before we went in the theatre, we bought snacks first from the department store then we had brunch at KFC. We shared one Zinger Fully Loaded Meal, four rice and three bowls of gravy. No other fast food would ever satisfy us than KFC, it's an all time favorite and no date is complete without it. If it's not available we opt for McDonald's, but it will always be our first choice. :)

The movie is okay. I can't say it's bad, and I can't say that it's good either. The plot is pretty predictable, but it's okay, it's not like we wasted money or anything; it's not disappointing as well. We find the movie pretty funny, or perhaps we're just one of those people who snicker at the most simple things. The actors are convincing, they were great it's just that the plot is, as I said, predictable that it kind of made the movie a little boring. There are no scenes that would make the audience scream as we have expected, or perhaps we just don't find it that way either. I guess we're just used to more horrifying films, or maybe the actress who played the ghost doesn't look creepy or scary at all. But whatever the movie turned out to be, I could say that we both really had fun watching it.

And yes, believe it or not, it's actually our first time to watch a movie together in the cinema. It was actually my idea at first, because I find watching movies pretty costly and I have this fear of watching a lame film. That's why we've been watching movies at home, at least we get to choose what movie we want to watch without worrying of the date or year it was shown. I was just being practical ha-ha, but he insisted that we finally do it, and I just can't refuse when he said that we're going to watch The Asiong Salonga Story. I've been wanting to watch it since they first aired the trailer on TV. We're still kind of disappointed that we haven't seen The Asiong Salonga Story, but we promised ourselves that we'll watch it soon, no matter what it takes. Ha-ha! Nonetheless, we loved what we did today and we will definitely have a go at it again in the future.

I love hanging out with Mac like we both have nothing to do, we kind of miss being bums but we just could not afford to bum around for too long anymore. It's a great feeling though, being productive, but nothing beats a chill out day with the person you love being with. <3

Concerts in 2012

Mac have always dreamed of going to a concert with me, so when he found out that Katy Perry is playing Manila again, he asked me if we could watch it together. We both agreed that we'll try our best to save up for at least the bronze ticket, but since we have a lot of things to save up for first, the California Dreams concert thought was put aside.

But a couple of days ago he told me that Evanescence will also be having a concert in Manila next month, knowing for a fact that I used to be (and I guess I still am) a huge fan of Amy Lee. I nearly hyperventilated in excitement, believe me I'm not exaggerating. ;) But I already figured out that Evanescence would be more expensive than Katy Perry.

I have not been in a concert for over a year, and it's a sad thing for me because way back in high school I used to follow my favorite local bands around Manila, and even in Cebu. LOL I miss screaming like a sissy fan girl on a Hale concert. Ha-ha! Came college, the only time I could watch a gig or a concert is when local bands are playing in bars nearby, or if the council invited one. I miss watching concerts, it's been a great part of my life at some point. It's my other way of winding up on a Friday or Saturday night after a week long of stress from school.

So I decided to Google other upcoming concerts, and found out that a great deal of artists are coming to the Philippines this year. YAY! I've also just been informed by my good friend May that A Rocket to the Moon will be having a mall tour next month, I guess there's a fat chance that Mac and I could watch them. I'm still trying to look for something bigger that would happen during the summer like Death Cab for Cutie, they'll be having a concert in Taguig on March 5th. I guess it would be much better since we could have enough time to save up for it, and we will most probably be not too busy. But we will definitely watch A Rocket to the Moon! Ha-ha! Not only am I a fan, but also because I want to do something good for Mac. <3 In the mean time, I'm thinking of watching local bands with Mac, I was thinking of Pupil, Bamboo, Urbandub, The Dawn, Franco or better--KAMIKAZEE! Ha-ha! But I haven't looked into their gig lists yet, I might do it tomorrow.

BTW, I updated the site pages and added some new content in the Visitor's page. Finally have FREE WORDPRESS THEMES for you to download! Tell me what you think.
